About Me

Hi, I’m Deb. I’ve been working from home for the last 5 years – blogging about 4 of those…I was put in a situation where I couldn’t work for about 6 months, and I spent hours and hours researching online opportunities, and things I could do from home. I tried many things…some worked, some worked better than others, and some just didn’t work at all for me.

I can’t promise that you’ll find your answer tomorrow, but there are viable options out there. Getting started is the most important step. Whether you’re interested in writing, blogging or being a virtual assistant, there are many options to explore here.

I wish you much success on your journey!

Here are some places you may want to start:

A Few More Details

So would you like to know more about me? I live in New Jersey.

**Blogging tip for YOUR “About Me” page: When you decide to offer information about yourself, it doesn’t have to be tidbits like what you had for dinner last Tuesday, or your kid’s middle name…nobody says you have to spill your fine life details out there, but you can be personable, and you can be yourself, and let people know who you are. Be authentic- people can see through phony, and if you’re taking the time to reach out to others with your writing, then being real can make a big difference.

Okay, so now you know I’m from Jersey and my name is Deb…..I’ll give you one more detail for now, then it’s time to move on….there’s work to be done.

I’m in my 40′s, and I know enough to care about what I’m doing, but I also know enough not to feel like every single thing I do has to be “it”. I’m not afraid of making mistakes, because when you make mistakes- you learn from the process. Take it one day at a time, learn what you can, and more forward. Even taking those little, tiny baby steps are still taking baby steps forward. One step at a time is all it takes.

If this middle-age women from Jersey can do it, you can too. I’m not some young kid who picks up things at the drop of the hat. Trial and error baby…something doesn’t work how I like, go back, try it again….and lucky for you, I’ve been doing this for 5 years. I’ve got plenty of trial and error under my belt to share.

I’m not driving a Mercedes, and I don’t have 6 vacation homes. I am a woman who can take a vacation a couple times a year, and buy the latest gadget that catches my fancy. I have extra grocery money….so while I may not be living in a mansion, I have a pretty nice lifestyle. If that sounds like something you’re interested, stick around. It doesn’t cost anything to read my blog, so bookmark and learn!

I’ve recently added more articles about small business resources, small business marketing, and small businesses for beginners. I had a small business blog for over 4 years and wanted to pull some information over I thought might be useful for women starting out and considering self-employment.

I write in a non-technical manner, so it’s easy to understand. I think that’s crucial – if you’re going to learn, you need to understand what you’re reading, and you don’t need a bunch of jargon thrown at you! I don’t want to overwhelm you with details, but hope to give you enough information so that you find it valuable and helpful.

You won’t find me in a stiff suit in a corporate setting, but you will find me in a soft sweatshirt in my home office with my dogs by my side. It’s a nice life- working from home, being my own boss, and loving what I do.

There are so many options out there, you just have to decide what you want to do and go after it with gusto! I hope you find the information useful and it gets you motivated to start your own small business or fires you up to find opportunities that allow you to live your dream and work from home.

Until next time, Deb
